The Valley Center High School Hornets’ football season concluded with a 43-16 loss to Topeka Seaman in the Class 5A state playoffs' second round. Despite narrowing the gap to 21-10 in the third quarter, Valley Center couldn’t sustain the momentum, as Topeka pulled away in the fourth. The Hornets ended their season with a 3-7 record, while Seaman (8-2) advanced to face Goddard Eisenhower.
Key moments included senior quarterback Connor Meyer’s touchdown pass to RayJ Logan and several defensive stops by Cole Stapleton and Austin Saner. However, Topeka dominated offensively, outgaining Valley Center 504 to 250 yards.
