9/24 began our long stretch of away games for the rest of the season (minus Senior night on 10/8). We traveled up North to Salina South for matches beginning with the Maize Eagles again and finishing the evening against the Salina South Cougars.

It was a rough start to our evening after the long drive which lead to a hard loss to Maize after playing them and fighting our way to a victory at our previous home game against them. They were a very scrappy team that made less errors than us and caused us to get in our heads. We did have some hitting success while utilizing our Libero, Aly Sparman (11), the most this game, giving her a .333 hitting percentage. Following behind her this game was our outside hitter, Elena Alvarez (10) with a .125 average.

After a tough loss to the Eagles, we quickly reset our mindsets and determination to try and get the win against Salina South. Our ability to focus in and just go out prepared to stay positive and give our, all most definitely assisted us in getting the win we wanted against Salina South in 3 sets. We had more hitting all-stars that game which consisted of Grace Weber, MB-(10) leading our percentage with a .667 average against the Cougars. Right behind her was Sophie Simmons, MB-(11) with .333, Makayla L'Ecuyer (9) with .200 and Aly Sparman (11) with a .200 average.
Leading in passing this game was also Makayla L'Ecuyer (9) and Aly Sparman (11) with 2.0 average.

Set 2: (VC) 18 - (Maize) 25 Set 2: (VC) 28 - (SS) 26
Set 3: (VC) 15 - (SS) 11
Leaving us with a 1-1 split for the evening.
We will play against Derby and Hutchinson in Derby, KS next Tuesday, October 1st at 6pm and 7pm.
