It has been a busy week full of volleyball for Valley Center's JV Volleyball team.
September 14th, the JV team was met with a challenging tournament in Conway Springs. Their pool play consisted of a win against Douglass and two hard fought battles against Cheney and Garden Plain. This tournament was the first time the whole JV team was back together after a few of our athletes recovered from injuries.
Overall, we went 1-2 for the day.
September 17th, Valley Center Volleyball hosted our second to last home game of our season against Campus and Maize. Our team did a great job reaching their SR goal of 1.8 or higher with a 2.23 against Maize and 2.25 against campus. With a proud sweep for both JV and Varsity, we went 2-0 for the night.
This Saturday, September 21st, we played in our Andover Tournament beginning our morning against Andover Central. We took them to three with a tough loss, but a proud game under our belt. Our team was playing competitive and moving plays around and keeping good tempo. We then played our second team of pool against Mulvane. Another challenging match that proved when we play with grit and do what we need, business can be taken care of! It was a close fight throughout both sets, but we took the win in 2 sets. After lunch, we battled a League team that we will play in a couple weeks with a 3- set win against Derby. We then played McPherson for another 3- set match with a tough battle and a hard loss. We ended Saturday with a 2-2 record.
We will play away in Salina on Tuesday, September 24th.
