7th A team:
The Valley Center Hornet 7th grade A & B teams traveled to Salina Lakewood on February 1st and got 2 big wins! The A team started slow in the 1st quarter with a small 3 point lead but outscored the Mustangs 11-5 in the second quarter. VC had a strong 3rd quarter with 20 points with five assists & two threes. Hornets finished with 49 points which is a season high. Isaac Duncan had 18 points and was 2 of 2 from the 3 point line. Tristan Tucker had 9 points, 3 Rebounds, 7 assists, & 6 steals! Mason Schielke also hit two 3 pointers. Blake Thompson, Carson Schielke, Karson Spall, & Caden Spangler all contributed on both offense and defense!

7th B team:
The B team also won with a season high 40 Points. 9 different players scored and everyone competed hard in the 40-26 victory. Maddox Tah had 11 points, Jett Moffitt 8 points, & Hunter Swingle 8 points!

A team:
The Valley Center Hornets A team lost to Salina Lakewood 39-19. The team came out and Salina Lakewood was ready to play and played extremely aggressive defense. The boys played extremely hard throughout the game and I was proud of the effort they put out on the floor. The issue came down to execution against a pressure defense. The team was sped up and we struggled scoring the ball. The leading scorers for the Hornets were: Andreus Eshleman 10, Christian Fowler 4, Cage Newton 3, Luke Simmons 2.

B Team:
The B team came out and played really well the first quarter and jumped out to a 12-0 lead. Salina Lakewood settled into the game and went on a run themselves to make the game tied at halftime 14-14. The team though was resilient and was able to hold off Salina Lakewood in the 2nd half to win the game 30-28!
