The final score is not a true indication of how close the Hornets were to beating the visiting Andover Trojans. After a strong first half visiting Andover would be up 32-22 going into halftime. Andover started the second half with a run to extend to their biggest lead of the game at 41-25. The Hornets would fight back though, scoring 16 points in the final three minutes to cut into the lead. Austin Saner hit two 3 pointers, Evan Chavez hit a 3 pointer and Hank Welu completed a 3 point play to spark that run. To start the 4th quarter the Hornets would trade baskets and were within striking distance being down 54-50 with 4 minutes to play. Unfortunately, the Hornets had trouble scoring and Andover was able to extend the lead and end up winning 68-52. Austin Saner led the Hornets in scoring with 21 points. Hank Welu was the next leading scorer with 16 points. Next week the Hornets take on Goddard at home on Tuesday before traveling to Ark City on Friday.
