The Valley Center Girls fell short on Saturday afternoon in Haven at the Wildcat Classic. They faced #4 ranked Halstead Dragons in the Championship game. The game began with both teams making shots and battling through the first half where the Hornets clung to a 1 point lead. But the second half saw the Valley Center offense stall and Halstead's offense tough out enough points to take the victory. Morgan Thatcher led the Hornets with 12 points.

Despite the loss, the girls had a great weekend competing against some of the top teams in the Wichita area. The Hornets have a tough week as they face league opponents Andover Central on Tuesday and Andover on Friday. Both games will be played at 6:00 in Valley Center.
