JV Girls Basketball Win Cheney Tri

JV @ Cheney tourney

The JV squad pick up two wins in the Cheney tournament, beating host Cheney 44-42 and Circle 35-31.

In the Cheney game, Dylan Cummings led the Hornets offensively scoring 27 points, swiping 5 steals and grabbing 6 rebounds. Kora Teter knocked down 2 threes for 6 points and collected 5 rebounds. Cassidy Child had 5 points to go along with 3 steals and 4 rebounds. Leah Hamm’s 4 points might have been the biggest of the game scoring the tying and go-ahead buckets in the last minute of the contest. She also had 4 steals. Payton Carrillo was huge on the glass collecting 6 rebounds to go along with 4 steals. Josie Harrell grabbed 2 rebounds.

In the matchup with Circle, Katie Anderson was a beast on the boards nabbing 12 rebounds to go along with 5 points and 5 steals. Dylan Cummings again led the team in scoring with 13 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and had 4 steals. Leah Hamm scored 8 points and 3 steals to go along with 2 rebounds. Jasmine Conway scored 5 points while Cassidy Child and Kora Teter had 2 points each.

C team vs SE & NW @ North Tournament

The C team dropped a pair of games in the North tournament, losing to Wichita Southeast 36-16 and Wichita Northwest 33-12.

Kora Teter led the scoring against Southeast with 9 points. Morgan Morris had 3 and Leah Hamm and Payton Carrillo each chipped in 2.

Against Northwest, Kora Teter and Binni Effland each scored 3 while Morgan Morris, Payton Carrillo and Jocelyn Knoblauch each had 2 points.
