Valley Center Girls played 2 games this weekend. Friday night, the Hornets traveled to Andover Central where they battled the Jaguars but fell just short. Shots were falling early to give the girls an early 6 point lead. They managed to hold on through the first half but Andover Central cut the lead to 3 by the break. The 3rd quarter was back and forth with the Hornets still holding onto a 1 point advantage. But the last quarter, Andover Central heated up, hitting 3 of 5 three pointers to give the Hornets their first loss of the season, 36-30. Taylor McDonald led Valley Center with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Anna Duncan added 8 points/4 rebounds and Avery Davison added 6 points with 4 assists.

The next night, the girls played host to Wichita North where they were able to get back on the winning track. The girls jumped out to an early lead that stretched to 32-5 by halftime. The second half was back and forth with the girls closing out the win 45-20. Anna Duncan led the Hornets with 12 points and Abby Anderson with 7 rebounds. Reese Bieker added 8 points.

The girls take their 4-1 record on the road to Goddard Tuesday to take on the Lions in their final game prior to the Winter break. JV will play at 4:15 with the Varsity playing at 6:00. There will be no Freshman game this Tuesday.
