The girls C team dropped a tough game to Andale 37-29 to even their record to 1-1. The Hornets struggled to score in the first quarter and trailed 14-0. A good press by Valley in the 2nd quarter forced turnovers which allowed for easy buckets and cut into the Andale lead to only trail at half 20-17. An injury to guard Kora Teter sidelined her for most of the 2nd half and allowed the Andale pressure to force turnovers and held the hornets to only 12 second-half points. Dylan Cummings lead the team with 22 points. Bailey freeman scored 3 while Alivia Bass and Jocelyn Knoblauch each had 2.

The JV squad moved to 2-0 on the season with a 42-34 victory against Andale. The Indians held a 10-7 lead after the first quarter. But a stingy defense forced Andale to commit turnovers which VC converted into transition baskets taking a 21-14 lead into halftime. The Hornets were stymied in the 3rd quarter held to only 4 points allowing Andale to tie the game at 25. But VC took control in the 4th scoring 17 to seal the win.
