The B team on Saturday played in a tournament and did really well. The first game was against Andover and the team won 25-8! The team came out and jumped out in front early and never looked back as the score was 16-4 at halftime. Coach Corey Carter said, “I was proud of the way the team played against a zone as we had been struggling against zone this year and we finally are starting to make some adjustments!” The leading scorers for the game were: Sam Anderson, 5, Emily Reffner 4, Katrina Dixon 4, Anna Stratton 4, Adrian Meith-Overton 4, Lauren Woolsencroft 2, and Miley Dalrymple 2.


The second game of the day the Hornets played against Goddard and won 23-9! The team again played against a zone and we were able to make some shots to push the game out at halftime. Coach Carter commented, “I was proud of how well the girls passed the ball to get their zone moving. Also, we installed a new press and for only practicing one day on the press I thought it went really well!” The leading scorers for the game were: Sam Anderson 6, Katrina Dixon 3, Miley Dalrymple 3, Anna Stratton 2, Whitney Haight 2, Ana Sandoval 2, Maggie Colby 2, Adrian Meith-Overton 2, and Emily Reffner 1.

This weekend, our team faced off against Goddard and Andover, unfortunately losing both games. Our girls had a difficult time executing their plays, which resulted in multiple turnovers. To add to the challenge, our team faced foul trouble in both games. Despite putting up a good defensive effort, we struggled with rebounding, ultimately giving our opponents more scoring opportunities. Overall, our defense was solid, but we'll need to work on our rebounding going forward.
