Head Wrestling Coach Corey Jones was recognized this past weekend at the VCMS Wrestling Invitational!

Ladies and gentlemen, today we want to take a moment to recognize Valley Center Wrestling Coach Corey Jones and his remarkable career in wrestling and education.
In the world of wrestling, Corey Jones is a legend. As an athlete, he achieved a remarkable 13-time state champion record with Wichita Wrestling Club as a youth wrestler. While in high school at Kapaun Mt. Carmel, Corey was a two-time undefeated state champion his Junior and Senior year. Also in high school Corey competed in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling winning four state championships in each style from 1984 to 1987. This culminated in his victory at the 1986 Junior National Championships.
His success continued in college, where he made two NCAA tournament appearances. He excelled at Clarion University in Pennsylvania and New Mexico State, where he secured two WAC League Championships.
As a coach, he's left an unforgettable mark. He served as the Head Wrestling Coach at Wellington High School, Kapaun Mt. Carmel, and as an Assistant Coach at Valley Center High School, earning the title of Kansas Wrestling Assistant Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2010.

As the Head Coach for Valley Center Middle School, Corey has led his teams to six league titles and an impressive combined dual record of 124-21-1. His dedication earned him the title of Kansas Wrestling Middle School Coach of the Year in 2018.

Corey also made history as the Head Softball Coach at Valley Center High School. His leadership culminated in the team's historic back-to-back State Championships in 2022 and 2023.

With his supportive family, Wife Tracey, & children Tate, Tiger, & Tilly along with all his adopted Wrestler extended family we are proud to recognize a man who has dedicated 30 years to teaching and coaching!
