The Valley Center Hornets emerged victorious over the Andover Trojans with a final score of 22-10. The first quarter saw a close competition, with Valley Center trailing Andover 2-4. However, the Hornets made a comeback to take the lead at halftime, with a score of 7-6. One of the key highlights of the game was the Hornets' full-court press, which posed significant challenges for the Trojans. This high-pressure defensive strategy limited Andover's scoring opportunities, especially during the second half of the game. Valley Center outscored Andover, 15-4 in the second half to secure the victory. The Hornets' scoring was led by Raegan McDonald, who contributed a remarkable 13 points. Avery Williams added 5 points to the scoreboard, and Rachel Garten chipped in with 4 points. Avery Williams also showcased her defensive prowess with an outstanding 9 steals, helping to stifle Andover's offensive efforts. The players put forth an excellent effort on both ends of the court, securing a well-deserved victory.

Valley Center's 7th grade B Hornets faced a tough opponent in Andover Monday night, who dominated both on offense and defense. Despite their best efforts, the Hornets struggled to work the offense and create scoring opportunities. However, Bri Kessler's fierce rebounding efforts were noteworthy, as she fought hard for every loose ball and did her best to get the Hornets in the game. Additionally, Kelsey Friend's hustle and impressive defensive skills were a standout feature of the game, as she worked tirelessly to disrupt Andover's offensive plays and prevent them from scoring. Although the Hornets ultimately fell short, their determination and hard work were admirable, and they can be proud of the effort they put forth.
