7th-Grade Hornets End Season on A High Note

The Valley Center Hornets' 7th-grade football team wrapped up their season in style with an impressive 36-24 victory over the Salina Lakewood Mustangs. This thrilling final game showcased the resilience and talent of the Hornets, capping off their season with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses.

The Hornets' offense was firing on all cylinders, and it was a night to remember for the young athletes in the purple and yellow. Lyle Heck, Rowan Wilson, and Isaac Duncan led the charge, each contributing a crucial rushing touchdown.

However, it wasn't just the offense that shone brightly in this matchup. The Hornets' defense also made a significant impact on the game. Chance Spangler's outstanding performance deserves special mention, he secured an interception and dashed an astonishing 60 yards down the field, crossing the goal line for a defensive touchdown.

Karson Spall was another standout player for the Hornets' defense, making a remarkable impact with his eight tackles during the game. His consistent and hard-hitting play helped control the line of scrimmage and disrupted the Mustangs' offensive game plan.

As the final whistle blew, the Valley Center Hornets' 7th-grade team celebrated a well-earned victory that closed out their season on a high note. The players and coaching staff demonstrated their determination and passion for the game, leaving fans excited about the future of Hornets football.
