Yesterday evening, the Valley Center JV volleyball team finished their last league game for the 2023 fall season. They finished their past weekend with a strong 2nd place win at their El Dorado tournament which was a great way to start their Saturday before homecoming. The girls took 1st place in their pool getting redemption on Buhler in a 3-set win to whom beat us at our home tournament at the end of September. We solidified another win against Ark City which is who we knew we'd face again (yesterday) on their Senior Night at Ark City.

Last night, we played Ark City and Eisenhower and ended the night in a split 1-1 for wins/losses. Valley JV took care of business with Ark City in a 2-set win and their stats showed why! Caris Claussen (9) lead in hitting % with a .600, Cheyenne Lang (10) with a .333 and Aly Sparman (10) with a .286. The team held a solid SR passing stat averaging overall a 1.85 and our superstar passers that held a solid 2.0 was Aly Sparman (10), Avery Davison (10), Caris Claussen (9), Cheyenne Lang (10), and Kailee Michaud (10).

Against Eisenhower, we sort of lost control of the aggressive nature we had against Ark City but held our own during the 2-set battle. Though it ended in a loss, we had leaders who continued to keep us going in the fight. Sophie Simmons (10) lead kept us pushing with a .333 hitting percentage and Aly Sparman (10), Caris Claussen (9), and Scarlett Harrison (10) had 100% in Serving Stats. Our leaders for SR had two veteran all-star passers, Avery Davison (10) with a 2.3 and Aly Sparman with a 2.1. A newer player to the team has done well stepping into a more aggressive, fast-paced environment as a JV setter and had an amazing SR stat of 2.5 when adjustments were needed for her to pull back to help carry the pass to our all-around setter Caris for better victories to get out of a few rotations.
