In a thrilling Thursday night matchup, the Valley Center Hornets' 8th-grade squad faced off against the formidable Eisenhower Tigers, resulting in a hard-fought game that ended in a 14-6 loss for the Hornets.

The Tigers drew first blood, scoring two touchdowns in the opening quarter, setting the tone for the night. The first half ended with a score of 14-0 in favor of the Tigers, but the Hornets' defense tightened up significantly in the second half. The boys came out roaring after the break, determined to shut down the Tigers' offense. The Valley Center defense managed to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard in the second half.

Jaxon Welu's touchdown was undoubtedly the highlight of the game for the Hornets. The Hornets will be looking to utilize Welu's talents in the upcoming games to add more points to the scoreboard.

With only two games remaining in the year, the Valley Center Hornets are now setting their sights on their next challenge as they prepare to face the Andover Trojans this Thursday.
