Final Score: Valley Center Hornets: 0 Goddard Lions: 14

Last Thursday our 8th-grade Hornets gave it their all in a hard-fought battle against the Goddard Lions. Though the final score ended up 14-0 in favor of the Lions, our boys displayed true determination and resilience throughout the game.

Offensively, Cavion Williams lead the team with 33 rushing yards. His determination and agility on the field were nothing short of inspiring, and he left it all out there for the Hornets.

On the defensive front, Maddox Provence took charge, leading the team with a total of 5 tackles. His tenacity and ability to read the Lions' plays were crucial in slowing down their offense. During the game, Brody Hunter had a pivotal pass deflection, showcasing his exceptional defensive skills. Nate Bowen also deserves recognition for recovering a fumble that disrupted the Lions' momentum and gave our team a glimmer of hope.

While the final score may not have been in our favor, we look forward to seeing these young athletes continue to grow and develop their skills as they take on the Eisenhower Tigers this Thursday 9/28.
