Valley Center Middle School's 7th grade football team soared to an impressive 46-0 victory over the El Dorado Wildcats in a thrilling game last Thursday. The Hornets were buzzing with excitement as they secured their first win of the season, improving their record to 1 win and 1 loss. With the Derby Middle School game on the horizon this Thursday, the Hornets are ready to build on this momentum!

From the very beginning, it was evident that Valley Center was determined to make a statement. Their defense proved to be a formidable force, holding the Wildcats scoreless throughout the entire game. Isaac Duncan, Caden Spangler, and Jett Moffitt each had a fumble recovery during the game, with Karson Spall and Genova Alvey leading the middle of the defense in tackles.

Offensively, the Hornets were firing on all cylinders, with powerful runs that left the Wildcats defense struggling to keep up. The offensive line provided excellent protection, allowing our running backs to find gaps and find the end zone. Rowen Wilson and Caden Spangler had two rushing touchdowns each, and Merit Meister had the other. The whole team contributed to this resounding victory, with each player giving their all on every play.

The coaches praised the team for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing the importance of discipline and teamwork. They also reminded the players that this victory was just the beginning, and they should maintain their focus and determination as they prepare for the upcoming game against Derby Middle School this Thursday night.
