The Valley Center Junior Varsity Volleyball girls competed in their first official league games this Thursday, August 31st at Andover Central against the AC Jaguars and Wichita Heights Falcons. The team took Andover Central to battle for a three set match. A tough loss but a match that showed tough competition and growth for all the individual girls.

The team then faced Wichita Heights and took them to three sets as well. A lost match, but none the less a learning point for our team. Proudly, this team is full of young ladies (Sophomores and Freshman) that will learn so much about the game and their own potentials this season and come out better and more confident come league in October.

Scores are as follows:
Valley Center vs. Andover Central: 23-25, 25-22, 16-18 (L)
Valley Center vs. Heights: 25-23, 23-25, 10-15 (L)

Our highlight athlete of this game with a 1.7 SR percentage and multiple assists leading to off-ball kills goes to #30, Sophomore, Avery Davison. A true leader of the back row deserving her the title of Libero for the JV team. She’s athletic, supportive, and strives for bettering herself and her teammates.

Looking forward witnessing the GROWTH made from this match into our first home game on September 5th, 2023!
