Hornet powerlifters competed in the Goddard Virtual Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, January 28. Senior Jack McDonald swept the 198 lbs Men’s Division, finishing 1st in bench press (305 lbs), 1st in squat (485 lbs), 1st in clean (320 lbs) and 1st overall (1,110 total lbs). Fellow senior Caleb Saner finished in the top 10 in all 3 lifts and overall in the 181 lbs Men’s Division; 8th place in bench press (265 lbs), 3rd place in squat (405 lbs), 6th place in clean (265 lbs) and 3rd place overall (935 total lbs).

A pair of juniors landed top 10 finishes in the 172 lbs Men’s Division. Colt Williams finished 4th place in squat (365 lbs), 3rd place in clean (245 lbs) and 5th place overall (795 total lbs). Brayton Palmer finished 5th place in bench press (235 lbs), 5th place in clean (245 lbs) and 7th place for overall (775 total lbs).

Sophomore Walker Vanderweide finished 5th place in clean (225 lbs) in the 165 lbs Men’s Division.

Alex Gardea, Miles Massagila, Holden Morris, Jeffrey Stockwell, Beau Young and Damien Young also represented the Hornets at the meet and performed admirably.
