ARK CITY—
The Valley Center Varsity Boys lost on the road in league play 50-40 to Ark City. The Hornets led 15-14 after 1 Quarter but couldn’t respond after a scoring drought in the middle quarters. The Hornets were led by Sam Kemp with 21 points. Valley plays at Maize South Tuesday.

The JV team battled back from being down by 9 points during the 2nd quarter. Despite playing their best 2nd half of the year they came up short losing by 6.

Freshmen Boys

The Valley Center freshmen were back in action tonight as they headed to Arkansas City to face off with the Bulldogs. Valley started hot, taking an early 11-4 lead after one quarter. They extended their lead in the 2nd and went into halftime up 22-11. The Bulldogs fought back in the 2nd half, cutting the lead to as little as 3, but the Hornets pulled away late with some big shots in the 4th to notch their first win of the season, 44-35. Nash Jamolod led the way for VC with 17 points. Rylan Bailey scored 8, and Brady Haight chipped in with 7.
