VALLEY CENTER-- The Valley Center boys varsity basketball team lost 57-40 to Andover Central at home Friday night.  The Hornets played well in the 2nd and 3rd quarter outscoring the Jaguars but couldn't overcome a bad start.  The Hornets were led by Sam Kemp with 10 points and 5 assists.  Eli Lefto and Austin Saner each had 7 points. The Hornets (2-2)  play Wichita West at 2pm Saturday at Kapaun.

The Hornets lost a tough one in overtime to andover central. The hornets led for most of the game, but Andover central used a strong 4th quarter to force overtime.

4 Hornets scored in double figures to give them their highest point total so far this season.

Freshmen

The Valley Center freshmen were at home tonight against Andover Central. The Hornets led 8-7 after one, but the Jags fought back and took a 24-20 lead into halftime. Both teams battled throughout the second half, but the Hornets fell 49-44 in the end. Rylan Bailey led the way for VC with 15 points. Brady Haight had 13, and Mikey Kelly added 8.
