GODDARD EISENHOWER-- The Valley Center boys varsity basketball team lost 60-57 to Eisenhower Tuesday night. In a back and forth game the Hornets were unable to close out the game after a big 3rd quarter. The Hornets were led by Eli Lefto with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Sam Kemp added 16 points. Valley is 2-1 on the season and play at home Friday vs Andover Central and at Kapaun at 2pm Saturday vs. West.

The Hornets led for the first 3 quarters, but struggled to score in the 4th. Eisenhower started hitting shots and put the Hornets away 54-41.
The Hornets were led in scoring by Grant Angell with 13 points. Colby Newton and Corben Burgess each had 8 points.
Freshmen
The Hornets took an early lead after one quarter, 9-3, and extended their lead to 15-7 at halftime. The Tigers stormed back and took a 20-17 lead going into the 4th. The Hornets fought hard, but fell 43-39 after a high-scoring last frame. Rylan Bailey led the Hornets with 17. Nash Jamolod followed with 11, and Connor Thatcher added 5.
