The Valley Center Hornets girls basketball team enters the upcoming season with a mix of excitement and determination as they look to build on last year’s 10-11 campaign. While the team will need to replace four starters from last season’s squad, there’s plenty of optimism surrounding a talented young group eager to make their mark at the varsity level.
Leading the way will be three-year starting point guard Avery Davison, whose experience, leadership, and steady play will be vital in guiding this new-look roster. As one of only two returning letter winners, Davison’s presence brings stability and confidence to a team that will rely on her both on and off the court.
Although youth will be a defining characteristic of this year’s squad, the Hornets’ strong junior varsity program from a season ago has laid a solid foundation for success. Many of those players are now ready for their varsity opportunity, bringing energy, depth, and a strong competitive spirit. With continued growth and commitment, the Hornets aim to develop throughout the season and position themselves to compete at a high level that the AVCTL-I requires.
