BOYS BASKETBALL COACHES PREVIEW

Boys Basketball Coaches Preview

BRENT WELCH

Valley Center Athletics | 12/4/2025

The Valley Center High School boys basketball team enters the 2025–26 season with renewed energy and a deeper, more experienced roster. Head coach Brandon Wolff returns a strong core led by RayJ Logan, Nash Jamolod, Evan Chavez, Preston Looney, and Rylan Bailey — all expected to anchor both ends of the floor.

The Hornets focused their offseason on building a tougher defensive identity, improving pace, and creating better offensive balance. With added depth and several underclassmen pushing for rotation spots, the coaching staff believes this group is positioned to take a step forward in the highly competitive AVCTL I, one of the strongest basketball leagues in the state.

Key goals for the season include strengthening team rebounding, pushing the pace in transition, and developing a unified approach on both offense and defense. The Hornets open the schedule with confidence and a clear sense of who they want to be, aiming to prove they belong among the league’s top programs.
