It was a strong showing for the Hornets on Thursday evening as both the 7th and 8th grade teams came away with hard-fought victories. The 7th graders set the tone with a thrilling 28-22 win, powered by balanced play on both sides of the ball. Dominic Alvarez was the difference-maker, making big contributions offensively and defensively. With the game hanging in the balance, Alvarez came up with a clutch interception late in the fourth quarter, sealing the win for his team and igniting the Hornet sideline.
The 8th grade squad followed up with a gritty 14-6 victory that showcased toughness in the trenches. The Hornet defense dominated, holding their opponent to just one score all night. Brayson Griblin and Kelvin Wilson anchored the defensive line with monster performances, constantly pressuring the backfield and shutting down the run. Their relentless effort allowed the Hornet offense to play with confidence, grinding out enough points to secure the win.
Together, the two teams showed determination, resilience, and pride in their home field. With both squads finding their stride, the Hornets look poised for even bigger things as the season rolls on.
