A busy couple weeks it has been for the JV squad. After a bi-week during 9/8-9/12, the JV Volleyball squad had their first tournament on 9/13 in Conway Springs where they battled through some competitive teams to end up in 4th place. With a few athletes still being out for injury, the girls fought hard to keep up with the scrappiness of each team and work on fixing our errors.
We went 1-4 for the day but lost by less points to get us into second place out of pool and compete against Cheney and Clearwater for 4th place.

We then turned around Tuesday to play Campus and Maize which was enjoyable to see the improvements that were made after our long Saturday in Conway Springs. We got the win against Campus after a hard fought 3 sets and lost to Maize in 2 sets but learned a lot about ourselves and what to improve on to keep up with their competitive thinking and ball placement. We went 1-1 this night.
Lastly we turned back around this past Saturday (9/20) to play in Andover where we got to compete against some very great teams and round out more skills and competitive attitudes on our side of the net. We started the day with a battled loss to Andover Central and then came back to get a win against Mulvane. This placed us in the silver pool to compete for 4th, 5th, and 6th place. We re-matched against McPherson who always brings on good competition but took the loss in two sets. After a break, we played against Derby, who we will be seeing in two weeks at home with a two set loss but stayed very competitive and began moving the ball around to keep the play fun and tough for them.
We ended the day 1-3 with scores as follows:
v. Andover Central
21-25 L
14-25 L
v. Mulvane
25-17 W
16-25 L
15-13 W

We play again tonight at home versus Salina South and Maize.
Stay tuned for results on our first home game of league season.
