Valley Center Girls Tennis Wins Third Straight Dual Over Salina South
The Valley Center Middle School girls tennis team extended their winning streak Thursday with a commanding 21-3 victory over Salina South, marking their third straight dual win of the season. The Hornets’ depth and consistency across the lineup once again proved to be the difference.
This season has been highlighted by the impressive rise of newcomer Sophia Fellows. Fellows continues to make noticeable strides in both her singles play and as a doubles partner with Kate Stratton. Together, the duo has shown steady improvement that has the coaching staff excited about their potential.Sophia is brand new to the game, but the progress she’s made in such a short time is impressive. She and Kate are learning to play off each other’s strengths, and if they keep working hard, they’ll be tough to beat.
The Hornets also leaned on the steady play of veterans Bree Bowen, Kaitlyn Jones, and Ella Burbach, who each swept their singles and doubles matches to give the squad a strong foundation throughout the ladder. Their consistency takes pressure off the rest of the lineup and keeps our team confident from top to bottom.”
With their third consecutive dual win and plenty of momentum, the Valley Center girls look to continue their hot streak as they prepare for the heart of the season.
